Questions?

1. Do I need to download the VB6 Runtime Files?

TaskMagic will not run without the VB6 runtime files:

Many Windows machines (especially XP) will already have all the VB6 runtime files installed, and users are advised to try to download and install TaskMagic from the link on the downloads page without downloading the VB6 Runtime files from Microsoft.

However, if you experience any technical difficulties or error messages during installation or when you run TaskMagic, this may indicate that you need to download the VB6 runtime files (free) from Microsoft. Click here to download the VB6 runtime files from Microsoft. The VB6 Runtime files are intended for Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME & Windows NT. Windows XP machines should already have the latest versions installed.

2. What do I need to do once the download is completed?

The downloaded file is a compressed file. You will need to open it using Winzip or a similar piece of compression software. If you do not have WinZip (or similar) on your computer, you can get it from http://www.winzip.com

When you unzip the downloaded file, you will create 3 files: setup.exe ; setup.lst ; TaskMagic.cab

You need to run setup.exe to begin the installation of TaskMagic on your computer. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation process.

Once installed, TaskMagic can be accessed from your computer’s Start Menu.
